Application Process

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Sahuarita Unified School District.  To complete an application, please read the information below and follow the steps indicated:

Please note:

  • Current employees that are interested in any job posting must submit an internal application through our online system.
  • Completed applications will be kept on file for six (6) months after submission.
  • Sahuarita Unified School District must obtain three (3) references for each candidate considered for employment, unless the applicant has had only one employer for the previous five years (certificated positions only).
    • Certificated applicants should provide information that includes their most recent principal or cooperating teacher, college supervisor’s names, or other educational references deemed appropriate including current telephone numbers and email addresses.
    • Classified applicants should provide the names of the three (3) most recent employers including the supervisors’ names, current telephone numbers, and email addresses.  Failure to provide accurate information will result in a delay in the employment process.

Step 1:  Application

Administrative:

  • Complete the administrative application on-line,
  • Transcripts,three (3) letters of recommendation, cover letter, AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card & current Arizona Administrative Certificate must be attached.

Certified (Teaching):

  • Complete the Certified application on-line,
  • Transcripts, three (3) letters of recommendation, cover letter, AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card, AEPA Verification & current Arizona Teaching Certificate must be attached.

Internal (Current Employees):

  • Please complete the internal application online.
  • Letter of interest and resume must be attached.

Step 2:  Interviews

Once you have completed the application process, your file will be reviewed and considered for employment.  A formal screening interview, by each specific department or school, may be scheduled either in person or by telephone.  When the interview process is completed, and if you are selected, the Human Resources department will be notified.

Step 3:  Appointment

If you are recommended for employment, a representative of the Human Resources Department will contact you to officially offer the position and arrange a time to complete the necessary paperwork.

Step 4:  Orientation
All new employees must provide the following information and/or documentation and at time of employment:

  1. Social Security card;
  2. Two forms of identification: drivers license, social security card, government issued passport;
  3. Voided check (for direct deposit);
  4. Information on beneficiaries: name, address, and social security number (for state retirement and life insurances purposes).

Certified employees must attend new teacher orientation in their first year of employment with the district.  This orientation takes place 6 days before school starts. Orientation sessions are contractually required of all certificated staff.

 

 

CLASSIFIED APPLICANTS: As part of the employment process, it will be necessary to complete a fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, unless you have a current Arizona fingerprint clearance card.  If you do not have a fingerprint clearance card, the Sahuarita Unified School District will process a background check through this procedure.  The cost for fingerprinting will be reimbursed to the district, on the employees first paycheck, in the amount of $24.
