The Facilities Department is here to support the operations of the schools and to insure a safe and comfortable learning environment for the students. The Facilities Department is responsible for all general maintenance repairs, grounds care, and preventative maintenance care for the Sahuarita School District. We have a professional maintenance and grounds staff and tradesmen who specialize in plumbing, electrical, locksmith, and HVAC technologies.
Our department runs on a work order system. A work order must be submitted before any work can be scheduled for the Facilities staff to complete. Any work orders submitted that have more than one repair request will be denied, each trade needs to have a separate work order, for example, if toilet plumbing needs to be repaired and a door hinge in the same bathroom needs to be fixed, both items need to be on a separate work order, as they must be addressed by different staff members. We address all work orders on a first-in first-out basis. Work orders are classified in four categories as follows:
- Emergency/Safety Issues – Will be responded to immediately.
This is defined as a condition presenting an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or staff.
- High/Urgent – Priority 1 – To be responded to within three days.
High/Urgent – Priority 1 is placed on a work order intended to rectify a condition where the student learning process is impaired by either adverse environmental conditions or inoperative base building systems. High/Urgent – Priority 1 is also applied to any condition identified as a potential safety hazard. A High/Urgent – Priority 1 work order may be addressed quickly to render it a Low or Scheduled – Priority 3 work order by shutting off water, killing electrical service, etc. to eliminate the immediate threat. It will now go into the queue as a priority three.
- Medium – Priority 2 – To be responded to and completed or rescheduled within 30 days.
These would include Preventative Maintenance and ADA Compliance.
- Low or Scheduled – Priority 3 – To be responded to within 60 days.
These would include routine repairs.
